This apopliance is very safe but it is an electrical heating appliance, so use the same safety precautions you would with any heater:

The heat pads will be safe although the same as any electrical appliance a certain amount of care needs to be taken (+ there is always a risk – albeit a small one, of malfunction).  I’d treat it the same as any heater

• Use on a solid heat resistant surface eg concrete floor
• Only sit non combustible vessels on there eg glass or say stainless steel no plastic
• Ensure no liquid gets on the heat pad (incl condensation)
• Keep it with a clear airspace around it so it doesn’t overheat
• Make sure there is no combustible materials nearby especially things that might move eg curtains and loose items like clothing or plastic bags
• If you’re aware of any power fluctuations in your supply then maybe a power surge protector
• Consider a smoke alarm if there isn't one in the room you will be using the heating pad
