Champagne Yeast 10x100g

Champagne and General Purpose Winemaking Yeast. Prise de Mousse / PDM. 100g

May be Lalvin EC1118 or another brand of the same strain.

We recommend you use this product within 6 months.

This champagne yeast is very robust and suitable for a wide range of applications.

This is for 100g bulk in a plastic bag. Use 5g for any quantity of wine/must/wash up to 23 litres.

 

Prise de Mousse winemaking yeast is suitable for fruit wine, vegetable wine, white wine, red wine, late harvest wine, restarting stuck ferments, sparkling wine, fermenting your sugar wash for distilling your own spirits, secondary wine fermentations, mead, cider and ginger beer.

Characteristics of Prise de Mousse:

  • neutral flavour
  • temperature range 10-30C
  • fast ferment
  • high alcohol tolerance 18%
  • low nutrient needs.


To "pitch" (add it to your wine) your yeast you should rehydrate for 20 minutes first:

  • Use room temperature cooled boiled water - 50mls for 5gms yeast.
  • If you are using it add GO-FERM® Protect first.
  • Then add your yeast.
  • Stir gently - it will clump but don't worry about that as it will even out as it rehydrates.
  • Leave to sit for 20 minutes.
  • Make sure your wine is about the same temperature as the yeast when you stir in the yeast.
