Christmas deliveries and hours:  Last day to order to get your deliveries by Christmas for urban areas: North Island-Thurs 21st, South Island-Wed 20th.  Rural can take severa days longer.  Note these dates are aligned with delivery targets and are not guarantees.

We will be open over the Christmas break, but freight providers do not work on statutory holidays, so no deliveries will take place on statutory holidays.  We may not despatch orders containing yeast immediately to avoid yeast sitting on the network over a weekend or long weekend.

We will be answering support queries over the Christmas period within the 24 hour service standard.  However it may take longer than usual.

Hot weather and delivery timeframes:  With this very hot weather we are experiencing we may avoid sending items containing yeast over a weekend.  If relevant please include delivery instructions which avoid leaving orders including yeast sitting in the sun. Thanks for your understanding.

Delivery timeframes

We will despatch your purchase within 1 working day of receiving the cleared payment.

For North Island non rural deliveries you can expect to receive your purchase the working day after shipping.  This is a delivery target and not a guarantee.

For South Island non rural deliveries you can expect to receive your purchase within 48 hours (working days) of us shipping.  This is a delivery target and not a guarantee.

Rural can take several days extra.

 

Free Shipping on orders $50 + more within New Zealand

Orders under $50 are $6 for shipping and handling.

 

No pickups or telephone calls sorry

We do not offer pickups, nor do we make or take telephone calls - and we do not make any exceptions sorry.  Please don't ask as a refusal can often offend.  For this kind of business it is a far more efficient way of operating, thus keeping costs low and prices competitive.  We understand that some people prefer to deal with others person-to-person.  If you are this kind of person our best suggestion is to visit or telephone a homebrew store.  You can google homebrew store or look in the yellow pages.

 

Address must be on NZ Post database

Please provide a deliverable address on NZ Post's database.  We will not send to addresses which are not deliverable on NZ Post's database.

 

Orders from outside New Zealand

We are happy to ship anywhere in the world.  Please email us info (at) makewine (dot) co (dot) nz with your order and location and we will let you know how much the shipping will be.

You will need to be able to pay by paypal or into a NZ bank account.

Please note, there may be additional costs (eg duty) at your country's borders, which will be your responsibility. You will also need to ensure you can legally import the items you have ordered and a condition of the sale is we will not be responsible for any loss to the goods if they are retained at customs for any reason.

 

Couriers and Post

We use Fastway Couriers, Courierpost and NZ Post as our freight providers.

Should you require the courier to leave your parcel somewhere, please include these delivery instructions with your order.

If you have separate postal and courier addresses please provide both as your order may be couriered or posted.

For Fastway, the courier will usually require a signature.  If you would like the courier to leave the parcel somewhere safe then you can download an Authority to Leave Form, fill it out and leave it for the courier.

For Courierpost, I will send non-signature, but if the courier doesn't think the item will be secure, they may still leave a card to call.  If you require the parcel to be left, please include this information with your order.

When your order is shipped we will let you know tracking information (although if the parcel has not yet been picked up your tracking number won't show up until the parcel has been collected), for Courierpost, they will send an auto-email with tracking information.  f you do not receive this please check your spam / with your email provider.

Saturday Courier Delivery (urban only)

For an additional charge of $5 we can purchase a Saturday delivery ticket for you. This is relevant if your order is urgent and is due for despatch on a Friday for the North Island or a Thursday for the South Island.  If you are unsure if this applies please email us on info (at) makewine (dot) co (dot) nz.  If you're not sure whether you'd need to purchase a Saturday ticket, please go ahead and order without paying for the ticket - we can bill you later if needed.  Apologies if this is confusing - there are several variables so each case may be different.  We will always work with you to get your order to you as quickly as possible.

 

Damaged or missing parcels

If your parcel does not arrive within the expected timeframe or arrives damaged, please let us know immediately.  If you do not let us know immediately we may not be able to replace or refund your parcel.

Occasionally orders do get damaged in transit or lost.

For damaged goods:

  • Please let us know immediately.  If you delay in letting us know it may mean we cannot make a claim against the freight provider.
  • If possible, please email us a photograph to info (at) makewine (dot) co (dot) nz
  • We will send a replacement immediately (for free)
  • Please retain damaged item and packaging as the freight provider will generally need to collect them to investigate.

For goods that have not arrived within the timeframe:

  • Please check the tracking and/or let us know immediately
  • We will lodge an enquiry with the freight provider
  • If the item has not been found by the freight provider within 2 working days, we will send a replacement for free .  The only proviso on this is that you provided us with the correct address for your order AND that you have informed us within 2 working days that your parcel has not arrived.

 

Rural Customers

If your item is not fragile we will send by post (fastpost when available).  You can upgrade to rural courier (which is usually faster and is tracked) for $5.

Rural deliveries usually take several additional days.

Rural deliveries either by post or courier will be delivered by your NZ Post rural delivery contractor.

You can provide special delivery instructions, but these are usually overridden by whatever arrangements you have in place with the NZ Post rural delivery contractor.

 

Recycled Packaging

We may send your item in recycled packaging in order to keep our prices down and for the benefit of the environment.  

 

 

Payment Options

If you make your order using the shopping cart on this website, your payment options will be shown to you, and you will be given instructions when you go through the checkout.

 

Internet or Phone Banking

You will receive our bank details as part of the checkout process.

Use your name or invoice number as the reference.

We will ship the order within 1 working day of the funds being cleared. You may, if you wish, email us a screenshot or other proof of your internet banking transfer and we will despatch your order within 1 working day of receiving proof of the transfer.   If you are Westpac your deposit will show straight away and with many banks moving to hourly processing its a good idea to flick me an email to let me know you've paid. That way I can look out for the deposit coming through and if at all possible will despatch same day.

Pay with your credit card using paypal 

When using our shopping cart facility and select paypal you will be automatically taken to where you can pay using paypal.  If you have not used paypal before, they are a trusted international payment processor with excellent buyer protection.  See the paypal website for more information.

Over the Counter at the Bank ($3 transaction fee)

If you are going in to the bank to make a deposit, there is a $3 additional charge for this. We apologise for handing on this charge, but as many people don't do manual deposits, we don't want to build the additional cost in to our prices.

You will receive our bank details as part of the checkout process.

Cheque ($3 transaction fee)

We are happy to receive payments by cheque. There is a $3 additional charge for this. We apologise for handing on this charge, but as many people pay by phone or internet banking (which doesn't attract bank charges), we don't want to build the additional cost in to our prices. You will be given the address to send the cheque to when you go through the checkout.  Your order will be sent once the payment has cleared.
