Delivery Information & Payment Options

Minimum Order $20

It is not viable to fulfil orders under $20 sorry.  The only way for us to operationalise this is to have a very high "freight" rate for orders under $20 of $30 for urban and $45 for rural.  If you are wanting to purchase low value items we suggest visiting your local homebrew store, or combining purchases with friends or neighbours, or stocking up (most products have a long shelf life).  This is not negotiable.  Thank you for understanding. 

 


Delivery timeframes (add up to 3 days delay with government restrictions during Covid alert levels 2+)

We will despatch your purchase either the day of receiving the cleared payment or the next working day.  A few exceptions apply for items we do not hold in stock.  This will be stated on the product page.

For North Island non rural deliveries you can expect to receive your purchase 1-3 working days after shipping.  This is a delivery target and not a guarantee.

For South Island non rural deliveries you can expect to receive your purchase 2-4 working days shipping.  This is a delivery target and not a guarantee.

Rural can take several days extra.

 

Free Shipping on orders $90 + more within New Zealand (exclusions may apply for South Island rural, Chathams/Barrier/Stewart Islands)

SOUTH ISLAND RURAL AND CHATHAM/BARRIER/STEWART ISLANDS:  Some bulky/breakable items (identified on the product page) do not ship to South Island rural addresses, or Islands as the shipping is simply too expensive and the chance of breakages is much higher.  We suggest you ship to an urban address and pickup from there or check with us which courier we will use for your order (Fastway or Courierpost) and we can ship to their depot / their local agent.  If you do want delivery to your door contact us for a quote.  info at makewine dot co dot nz

 

No pickups or telephone calls sorry

We do not offer pickups, nor do we make or take telephone calls - and we do not make any exceptions sorry.  Please don't ask as a refusal can often offend.  For this kind of business it is a far more efficient way of operating, thus keeping costs low and prices competitive.  We understand that some people prefer to deal with others person-to-person.  If you are this kind of person our best suggestion is to visit or telephone a homebrew store.  You can duckduckgo homebrew store or look in the yellow pages.

 

Address must be on NZ Post database

For NZ please provide a deliverable address on NZ Post's database.  We cannot send to addresses which are not deliverable on NZ Post's database.

 

Orders from outside New Zealand

We will ship selected items anywhere in the world that NZ Post delivers to.

Due to significant postal delays because of government COVID-19 policies we are not currently offering untracked airmail as an option.  Courier costs are high.

Payment options: paypal, NZ bank account or credit card via Stripe.com

Shipping costs:  To find out shipping costs, add your products to the cart and you will be able to see how much shipping is to your destination.

Please note, there may be additional costs (eg duty) at your country's borders, which will be your responsibility. You will also need to ensure you can legally import the items you have ordered and a condition of the sale is we will not be responsible for any loss to the goods if they are retained at customs for any reason.

We guarantee transit to your country's border but any border issues are at your risk.

 

Couriers and Post

We mostly use NZ Post courier and Fastway/Aramex as our freight providers.

Should you require the courier to leave your parcel somewhere, please include these delivery instructions with your order.

We send non-signature, but if the courier doesn't think the item will be secure, they may still leave a card to call.  If you require the parcel to be left, please include a delivery instruction with your order.

Damaged or missing parcels

If your parcel does not arrive within the expected timeframe or arrives damaged, please let us know immediately.  If you do not let us know immediately we may not be able to replace or refund your parcel.

Occasionally orders do get damaged in transit or lost.

For damaged goods:

  • Please let us know immediately.  If you delay in letting us know it may mean we cannot make a claim against the freight provider.
  • If possible, please email us a photograph to info (at) makewine (dot) co (dot) nz
  • We will send a replacement immediately (for free) provided you have let us know within 2 working days.  Otherwise we may need to wait until we receive confirmation from the courier company that they will accept a claim before despatching a replacement.
  • Please retain damaged item and packaging as the freight provider may need to collect them to investigate.

For goods that have not arrived within the timeframe:

  • Please check the tracking and/or let us know immediately
  • We will lodge an enquiry with the freight provider
  • If the item has not been found by the freight provider within 2 working days, we will send a replacement for free .  The only proviso on this is that you provided us with the correct address for your order AND that you have informed us within 2 working days that your parcel has not arrived.

 

Rural Customers

RURAL under $90: Please select rural shipping if you are a rural address.  We have no control over which addresses are RD. If a rural address is provided but urban shipping selected we may cancel your order and refund LESS paypal fees.  Order processing will be delayed.  It is faster and cheaper for you in the long run if you just select rural shipping if you are rural.  If you are not sure please check your address at the NZ Post database.

Large carboys & Malolactic culture do not ship to rural addresses or Stewart/Chatham/Barrier Islands.  

Rural deliveries can take several additional days.

Rural deliveries will usually be delivered by your NZ Post rural delivery contractor.

You can provide special delivery instructions, but these may be overridden by whatever arrangements you have in place with the NZ Post rural delivery contractor.

Some bulky items do not deliver to South Island rural addresses or Stewart/Chatham/Barrier Islands - see our note towards the top of the page.

 

Packaging

Our packaging is selected on functionality and cost effectiveness but is often varying degrees of ugly. It may be recycled packaging or if your order includes bucket/s it may be packed in an UNUSED NEW black rubbish bag.  Recycled packaging reduces environment footprint and prices paid by customers.  We are always looking for ways to reduce & preferably eliminate our environmental footprint.  If you have contacts for compostable, cost effective, secure supply-chain, ethical, traceable packaging we appreciate hearing from you.  info at makewine dot co dot nz.
